25 Books Every Christian Should Read

If King Solomon were alive today he might say something like this: There’s no end to the number of books being published. To try to read them all will wear you out. You would have a brain crash.

What to do?  Which ones to choose? Which books will help me most to become an effective ambassador for Christ? The answer is as varied as our backgrounds and personalities. Harper One has published 25 Books Every Christian Should Read to help with those questions.

During the coming weeks and years (yes, years) this web site will explore these books. How long we spend on one book or the other will be up to those who participate in this web site group study.

In 25 Books Every Christian Should Read, Richard Foster, Dallas Willard, Phyllis Tickle, Chris Webb, and a diverse editorial board of authors and speakers have identified the most helpful and historic books for Christian discipleship and created a resource that helps us make the most of them. Including a sizable excerpt from each book, 25 Books is designed to help individual readers and small groups work through the most important books for formation in Christlikeness. From Augustine’s Confessions to Thomas Kelly’s A Testament of Devotion, this list and this resource will lead you on a journey of discipleship that few in the history of the Church have experienced.
